For that occasion, we got invited at the gigabyte HQ to have a look at the new serie starting from the entry level UD3 to the top UD7- OC motherboards.

This new series uses the technology called the “3-Way Digital Power”. this means that you can configure various components of the motherboard by tweaking 3 elements that are : frequency, voltage and phases

In opposition to designs made by the competition, Gigabyte made the choice to not feature all these X79 boards with 4dimm slots on each side of the CPU. only the UD5 is going to be like that. as you can see on the pictures, what. Is new about this X79 board design is that it features the RAM banks on each side of the CPU for a better space efficiency on the board and a better memory bandwidth to the CPU.
Finally, one of noticeable point that came out this presentation is the bundling of a bluetooth and WiFi card with the UD5 and UD7 boards.

during our visit, I asked HiCookie to show us how to use the newly packaged tools to fine tune you CPU overclocking on the UD7:
