Gigabyte Z68X-UD5-B3 vs Gigabyte P67A-UD5 – Influence du chipset sur les performances

Début 2011, Intel lance son chipset P67 ( version B2 ) accompagnant l’arrivée des nouveaux processeurs Sandy Bridge sur socket LGA1155. Une vraie avancée en termes de performances, le i7 2600K et le i5 2500K tenant le haut du tableau face à des processeurs bien plus cher.

En ce qui concerne le chipset P67 en lui même, voici un petit schéma :

Fin janvier, Intel détecte un défaut au niveau des performances en SataII sur tous les chipsets Cougar Point, dont le P67. Nous n’allons pas revenir sur cette histoire mais il faut avouer que celaa jeté un sacré doute chez les clients d’Intel dû principalement au rappel massif de toutes les cartes écoulées depuis la sortie. Intel a réagit assez rapidement en sortant une version “B3” et qui s’est assez vite retrouvée sur le marché en remplacement de la version “B2”.

 

Entre temps, Intel préparait aussi le chipset Z68 qui sera lancé début Mai 2011, cette nouvelle déclinaison est censée cumuler les avantages du P67 et du H67. Donc en gros, les performances ( même en overclocking ) du P67 avec les sorties vidéos du H67 et quelques features complementaires (RST par exemple). Qu’en est il vraiment ?

CONCLUSION

Nous voilà au bout de ce comparatif P67 / Z68. La Z68X-UD5 de Gigabyte vaut elle le coup face à la P67A-UD5 du même fabricant ?

Sachant que la carte mère Gigabyte équipée du chipset P67 se trouve autour de 230euros et que sa concurrente du jour se trouve à environ 235euros, nous dirons qu’elles sont équivalentes sur le plan tarifaire.

Au niveau des performances, il est tout à fait clair que les deux cartes jouent dans la même catégorie mais vous remarquerez que la dernière de Gigabyte ( Z68X-UD5 ) est devant dans chaque benchmark même au niveau de l’overclocking. Bien que cela soit relatif, et l’écart très peu prononcé, les options du Z68 semble plus interessantes.

Pour monsieur tout le monde, cette Z68X-UD5 a peu d’intérêtdans le cadre d’une mise a jour de sa plateformer P67 sachant que l’intérêt principal du chipset Z68 lors de sa sortie était concentré sur :

  • les avantages du P67 ( overclocking, … )
  • les avantages du H67 ( sortie vidéo, … )

Seul point noir, ce modèle ( Z68X-UD5 ) ne propose pas de sortie vidéo et donc son intérêt pour monsieur tout le monde est faible.

En somme, pour une nouvelle configuration, orientez vous vers la version Z68 étant donné le très petit écart de prix, pour les performances ce sera similaire et pour les options, le Z68 est bien plus fourni.
