This weekend our friends from Germany have planned their annual OC competition with Gigabyte called the EOC. Put together by Der8auer in partnership with Gigabyte, this event is going to feature 6 teams of German Overclockers.
As we are in Europe these days gearing up for Gamescon, we thought “Hey, why not passing by and scheduling a livestream!” – Done.
Schedule
The Schedule is going to be straight forward. Based on the event one (see below), we are aiming at starting the stream at 10am (GMT+1) – western Europe time on Friday 8th of August 2014.
- 9:00 am: Arival
- 9:30 am: Official opening
- 9:45 am: System set-up, insulation
- 11:00 am: Competition starts [Time: 5 hours]
- 4:00 pm Finishing of competitions, award ceremony
- 4:30 pm Group picture
- 5:00 pm (BIOS discussion)
- 6:00 pm Clean-up
Xyala and Massman (from HWBOT) will be your hosts for this live. Tune in to listen to them walk you through the competitions, discussing scores, OC and much more.
Event Gear
On the practical sides of things, this event is going to feature the latest hardware:
- CPU: Intel Core i7-4790K
- Motherboard: GIGABYTE Z97X-SOC Force LN2
- VGA: GIGABYTE HD7790
- Memory: G.Skill (probably MFR)
- SSD: Kingston
- PSU: Seasonic (probably 1200 W)
Among the crispy details, as you can see, the guys are going to compete exclusively on the special LN2 edition board by Gigabyte – so we do expect interesting scores on 2D.
Competition Benchmarks
As said above, this event is exclusively 2D and will feature four different benchmarks via the HCE. (HWBOT Competition Engine).
- CPU-Z
- XTU
- SuperPi 32M
- Memory Clock
Check the Competition page over here to see how points are going to be allocated.
We are looking forward to this competition. It is always nice to see local overclockers working hard on organizing with industry vendors a local event featuring local overclockers. Truly deserving some WW exposure.
See you all on your live on Friday on our twitch channel. Till then, don’t forget: Keep pushing it!
