CORSAIR OC Main EVENT – 20 000$ in cash Prizes

As you might already know if you are a fan of OverClocking-TV on Facebook, we will be in Taiwan next week for the CORSAIR OC Main Event.

This event is the biggest in term of cash prize involved, up to 20 K$USD !

Corsair and Intel have teamed up to created the Computex OC Main Event which will have the largest overclocking cash prize ever! The event takes place on June 3rd from 1pm to 6pm at the Marquee Restaurant and Lounge in Taipei. Ten teams of the world’s best Overclockers will compete for $20,000 in cash prizes using the upcoming Intel® 4th Generation Core™ CPUs as well as soon to be announced Corsair Memory. The event will be live streamed as it happens by Overclocking-TV and will be posted here and OverClocking-TV.

From the CORSAIR blog we had more detail about the rules and the team involved :

The Computex OC Main event is broken down into two main categories. The Top Speed portion competitors will use the latest motherboards from ASRock, ASUS, Gigabyte and MSI along with an Intel 4th Generation Core CPU. The largest cash prize of $5,000 will be given away to the team with the lowest SuperPi 32m score. A prize of $4,000 will be given to the team with the highest Memory Frequency CPUz Validation and a prize of $3,000 will be given to the team with the highest CPU Frequency CPUz Validation.

The second part of the OC Main event is the Open even which is more of a Freestyle event. Competitors can use Intel 4th Generation Core CPUs along with any Corsair memory to compete in 8 different benchmarks each with a prize of $1,000 to the best score. These benchmarks include: Super PI1M, PiFast, wPrime 32m, wPrime 1024m, Aquamark 3, 3DMark01, 3DMark11, 3DMark Firestrike Extreme.

The ten teams that will be competing are traveling from around the world to compete at this event. It includes the top overclockers Nick Shih, HiCookie, Splave, Elmor, Dinos22 and Andre.
